The STAR Clinic at 470 Clarkson Avenue, Brooklyn, 11203, is only a 30 to 40-minute commute from the Atlantic-Barclays subway stop. Commuters from this central hub can take the 2 or 5 Train toward Prospect-Lefferts to the Winthrop Street station. From there, it’s a walk south on Nostrand Avenue, with a left turn onto Clarkson.

Flatbush really isn’t that far away! It’s a quick trip from Manhattan, anywhere in Brooklyn, and even Long Island (using the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) through the Atlantic Terminal. Bony’s Bagels near the Atlantic Terminal Mall also has good cookies.

The STAR Clinic at SUNY Downstate Medical Center provides a host of services, from HIV and Hepatitis C testing and treatment, to PrEP and PEP HIV prevention, and LGBTQ wellness programs for New York City, from a central location in Brooklyn, New York.

According to the New York Department of Health and AM New York, Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights in Brooklyn have had the highest new infection rate for HIV in New York City during the past few years. Get tested regularly, use protection, and find a local doctor you can talk to honestly and confidently. Be safe!

For more information on the STAR Program or an appointment, visit or call 718-270-3745.
