Community

As a healthcare leader in Brooklyn, the STAR Program is committed to improving community health through targeted education and outreach. Our team, many of whom live in the neighborhoods we serve, understands local health trends and delivers culturally responsive health education tailored to the needs of our diverse community.

Throughout the year, we participate in community events at schools, churches, shelters, and other venues across Brooklyn, sharing vital health information on HIV, STI and hepatitis C prevention and treatment, mental health, substance use, issues affecting young adults, and more. We also maintain a strong online presence through social media campaigns and digital outreach, using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to connect with the community. Our YouTube channel offers educational videos on key health topics, further extending our reach and impact.

To ensure our programming aligns with community needs, we rely on the STAR Community Advisory Group, a dedicated group of local residents, patients, and advocates who provide valuable insight and feedback. Additionally, we collaborate with local organizations to share resources and reinforce our collective commitment to community health.
