SBIRT Training Center

The newly established SUNY-DMC Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Training Center [] will teach residents and students in health professions the skills necessary to provide evidenced based screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment for patients who are at risk for a substance use disorder. The training will also develop the leadership skills needed in order to champion the implementation of SBIRT throughout the healthcare system. The new project represents a collaborative effort between the College of Medicine and the College of Health Related Professions, and will specifically train:

Funding for this program is provided by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The first group of trainees will complete the program in 2016. For more information, contact:
